As we celebrate Mother’s across the nation today, let us explore the mother’s heart. Whether you are a mother or a child, we cannot enter this world except through the mother’s womb. A mother carries us for 9 months, gives us life, nurtures us at our weakest, most vulnerable time. No matter how much time we get with our mother after our birth, whether it’s a few short hours or 100 years, that time is of the upmost value. With that first connection between not existing and our mother bringing us into this world, is the most important connection.
On Mother’s Day, let us honor this connection. That pivotal moment that was created uniquely and especially between you and your mother. This moment between you and your child. It can even extend out to our father, our siblings, our spouse, but none is as special as the first moment with our mother.
Take time today to connect with your mother, whether it be through a phone call, a visit, sending flowers or chocolates. If she’s no longer with you, place your hand on your heart, feel your heart beat and have peace in knowing your heart beat connects to her heart beat, no matter if she is on this earth today or beyond.
Cherish the feeling. Cherish the memories. Cherish each moment. Because this moment is uniquely yours.
